Q: Do I need to make a reservation?
It is highly recommended to make a reservation. We start taking reservations a year in advance, and most weekends are already booked up a year ahead. Weekdays are usually pretty open other than June – August. To ensure you get your favorite campsite, even weekday reservations should be made in advance.
Q: How do I make a reservation?
To make your reservations online: Click the “BOOK YOUR STAY” button above the menu at the top right of our website. You will be directed to our online booking system. You can make a reservation (14 days or >) on our website. You will be automatically charged the full amount when you book and receive an instant reservation confirmation. Please Note: It is only a $30 deposit when booking a year-in-advance.
Phone: Call our office at 608.297.2002 and press option 1 for Reservations. We recommend looking at a park map prior to calling for reference. If we do not answer when you call, please leave a voicemail including your name, requested dates, site preferences, and your call back phone number. If you do not leave a voicemail, you will not receive a call back.
Q: How far in advance can I make a reservation?
We always open our camping reservation one full season in advance. Reservations will always open for the following season the very first Monday in April. For example, we will start taking 2026 reservations Monday, April 7th, 2025. For year-in-advance reservations there is a $30 non-refundable deposit due at time of making a reservation. We invoice mid-January with balances due no later than February 15th of the upcoming camping season. Anything (3) nights or less needs to be paid in full. If 3-5 nights, the amount of the (3) nights will be due February 15th and any remaining balance will be due upon your arrival. If your reservation is 6+ nights, half of the reservation is due February 15th and the other half will be due upon arrival.
All Spring and Fall Special Balances are due in full on February 15th.
We highly recommend making a reservation in advance. Generally, we are full on weekends for most of our season. We occasionally have last minute cancellations and may be able to get you in if you are on our waiting list. Please note, a (3) night minimum applies for all Holiday weekends.
Q: What is your reservation deposit policy?
To confirm a reservation, we require the full deposit on stays (3) nights or less and 50% deposit required on reservations (6) nights or more, due at time of making reservation.
Group reservations: Once the first reservation is made, we will hold the others for payment for up to (7) days. All reservations in the group should be paid within (7) days or reservation request(s) will be canceled without notice.

Q: Can we bring in firewood?
NO CARRY IN FIREWOOD PLEASE. Please buy it where you burn it by purchasing our bug-free, USDA certified firewood. To help prevent the spread of gypsy moth, emerald ash borer and oak wilt, USDA and WDATCP Certified firewood is sold here at minimal markup to cover our costs. This is a serious problem and we ask our campers to take it seriously too. Please help us protect our trees and protect the beauty of the campground. We are working hard to prevent loss due to these invasive pests and diseases that are harmful to Wisconsin’s trees. Wilderness Campground has contracted a firewood supplier that is certified by the Wisconsin Dept of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection and the US Department of Agriculture to provide “certified” firewood for our customers at the lowest cost possible. Please enjoy a campfire with your family knowing you are doing your part to protect the environment. Visiting or singing around a blazing campfire and roasting marshmallows are among the experiences that make for a memorable camping trip… in a nice wooded setting, of course.
